How translating works
- 1
Make and export a video
Create a video from an idea in the AI Agent, check it, and export it. The Translate button is in the exported view.
- 2
Pick a language
Choose one of 11 languages. English, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic are first in the list.
- 3
Get a new video
The narration is translated and voiced again, scene by scene. You get a new video in the new language, ready to export and post.
What carries over
Written for speaking
Each scene is translated to take about as long to say as the original, so the pictures still line up with the words.
The same pictures
The pictures are reused as they are, so the look is the same in every language and nothing is redrawn.
The same voice
The new narration uses the original video's voice, including your own voice if you narrated with it.
Captions that match
The new audio is transcribed again, so the captions follow the new speech, word by word.
Good to know
- A translation is a new video, so it uses one of your plan's AI videos. If it fails, it is not counted.
- It translates the narration, the on-screen title and note, and chat messages. Words drawn inside a picture stay as they were.
- Arabic comes out as Egyptian colloquial, Spanish as Latin American Spanish and Portuguese as Brazilian Portuguese.
- It is for videos made in the AI Agent. It is not offered for scene clips, videos built around scenes or Remix, and it does not dub a video you filmed.
Questions about translating
Can I translate a video I filmed?
No. Translate works on videos made in the AI Agent, where the script, pictures and voice are all ours to redo. For a filmed video, see the dubbing guide.
Which languages are there?
English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
Does it keep my voice?
Yes. The translated video uses the same voice as the original, including a voice you recorded yourself, within that voice's 3-minute limit.
Does it cost an AI video?
Yes, one of your plan's AI videos for each translation, because the result is a new video. A translation that fails is not counted.
Can I change the translation?
Yes. The new video is an ordinary AI Agent video: every scene's narration, pictures, voice and captions can be edited before you export.
Why can't I translate a scene or a Remix?
A scene is one clip with its own sound, and a Remix plays your own clip with its sound, so neither has narration to translate on its own.
