Terms of Service

The rules for using Clip-Short, in plain words. How we handle your data is in the Privacy & Cookie Policy.

Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Clip-Short.com and its apps, tools and services ("Clip-Short", "we", "our" or "us"). By creating an account or using Clip-Short you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy & Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Clip-Short makes short videos with AI: it writes a script from your idea, draws or finds the pictures, narrates, captions and edits the video, and turns long videos into short clips with captions and reframing. Features, limits and prices are described on the pricing page and may change over time; a change never takes away what you have already paid for in the current period.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age to use online services in your country if it is higher. If you are under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian.
  • Give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One free plan per person. Accounts made to get around a plan's limits may lose the free allowance.

Plans and payments

  • The free plan includes 1 hour of AI clipping a month. AI videos are paid: one at a time, as a pack paid once, or with a Pro plan.
  • Pro renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
  • One-time purchases (a single video or a pack of videos) do not renew.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in your currency where Stripe can bill it, otherwise in US dollars, and may include taxes required in your country.
  • A video, clip or render that fails costs nothing: its allowance is given back. On Pro, what you do not use in a period carries into the next, up to one period's worth.

Refunds

If Pro is not for you, write to support@clip-short.com within 14 days of your first Pro payment and we refund it in full. If you believe any other charge is wrong, write to the same address and we will look at it with you.

Your content

  • You keep the rights to what you upload and to the videos you make with Clip-Short. Paid exports have no watermark and you may post and use them commercially, including for clients.
  • You give us permission to store and process your content only as needed to run the service for you: to make, edit, render and deliver your videos.
  • Your videos are private unless you share them. A shared link or a listing in the public gallery is your choice, one video at a time, and you can turn it off at any time.
  • Whether a platform such as YouTube or TikTok lets a video earn money is up to that platform. Our monetization checker gives an estimate, not the platform's decision.

Acceptable use

Do not use Clip-Short to:

  • Break the law or infringe anyone else's rights, including copyright, trademark and privacy.
  • Make sexual content involving minors, or sexual content of any real person.
  • Impersonate a real person, or present invented events as real news, in a way meant to mislead.
  • Harass, threaten or promote violence or hatred against anyone.
  • Clone anyone's voice but your own. Your own voice is made only from you reading the sentence we show you.
  • Upload a photo of a real person without their permission, or of anyone who may be under 18.
  • Get around usage limits, resell access, or overload, probe or attack the service.

AI output

AI can make mistakes: a script may contain errors, and a picture or voice may not be what you expected. Check your video before you publish it. You are responsible for what you publish and for following the rules of the platforms you post on.

Third-party services

Clip-Short relies on other providers, among them Clerk for sign-in, Stripe for payments, Google Cloud for storage, and AI models from providers such as Anthropic, Google and OpenAI. Their own terms apply to their services.

Ending your use

You can stop using Clip-Short and delete your projects at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, after a warning where we can give one. If you cancel or your plan ends, your projects and exports stay in your account for at least 90 days.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Clip-Short running, but the service is provided "as is" and may sometimes be unavailable or change. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the consumer law of your country.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new date, and tell you by email or in the app before a material change takes effect. Using Clip-Short after that means you accept the updated Terms.
