AI short dramas,
a series with a cast you keep
Write the premise, cast your characters and let the AI Agent draft each episode, on a schedule or whenever you ask: a narrated video of drawn pictures with captions and music, in a continuing story that ends each episode on a hook. For the line everyone waits for, make a short animated scene where a character says it out loud.

How to make an AI short drama series
- 1
Write the premise and the hook
Say what the show is about in a sentence or two: who is in it, the secret that drives it and the twist you open on. Set the tone, the audience and what to always and never do in the series notes, and pick an episode length, 1 or 2 minutes.
- 2
Cast your characters
Make up to 6 characters for the series, each with a name, a look and a style. The AI draws each portrait once, in about 15 seconds, and every picture that names the character is made from it. An episode follows up to 3 of them.
- 3
Plan episodes that end on a hook
Choose a continuing story: each episode opens with a short recap of what came before and ends on a hook. The next 3 ideas are written for you to read before anything is made; rewrite, swap or reorder them, or add your own. Then make up to 5 episodes right away, or put the series on a schedule.
- 4
Add the spoken moments as scenes
When a character has to say a line out loud, make a scene: an animated shot of 8 seconds with its own sound and up to two short lines you write. Describe the characters the same way each time. A scene is its own clip to post beside your episodes; it is not joined into the episode.
What a drama series gets
Episodes on a schedule
Every day, every other day, 3 times a week or weekly, or up to 5 at once whenever you ask. Each is emailed to you to review.
A cast that keeps its look
Each character is drawn once and every picture that names them is made from that portrait, so face, hair and clothes carry from episode to episode. Up to 6 in a series.
Narration in 19 languages
23 voices for the narrator, and Arabic narration in Egyptian colloquial. Paid plans can use their own voice.
Captions, music and title cards
Word-by-word captions in 15 styles, music picked to fit the mood, and an optional title card that opens each episode with the series' name and "Ep. 4".
Scenes for the lines that matter
An 8-second animated shot with its own sound and up to two short lines a character says, vertical 9:16 or wide 16:9.
You review, you post
Change any scene of an episode before you post it. Nothing is posted for you, and a series pauses itself once 5 finished episodes are waiting unopened.
Good to know
- A series is a Pro feature, and so are characters and scenes. Each episode uses one of your plan's AI videos, and so does each scene. If a scene can't be made, the video is given back.
- The free plan makes narrated videos of up to 1 minute with a small watermark. That is the way to make a first episode and see the story before you upgrade.
- What it is: a narrated, illustrated video with drawn pictures, a narrator, captions and music. What it is not: live action, a lip-synced film or a drama app. There are no actors, no paywalled episodes and no audience inside Clip-Short.
- Characters speak only in scenes, up to two short lines, and each scene is its own 8-second clip. Scenes are not joined into an episode and they do not use your saved characters, so describe them the same way each time and they come out similar, not identical.
- Nothing is posted for you. We make no promise about views or income.
What makes a short drama work
A short drama is a story told in vertical episodes of about a minute or two, each stopping at a turn. Sensor Tower counted more than 850 million downloads of short-drama apps in the first quarter of 2026, and 23% of them were in Latin America. Clip-Short is not a drama app: it is where you make the episodes, and you post them wherever you like.
People who make short dramas often say the hook has to land in the first few seconds. Open on the turn, the interrupted wedding or the secret said out loud, and leave the set-up for later. That is common advice from the industry, not a rule, and it is how the example on this page opens.
The usual advice for a series is to end every episode on a question the next one answers. Here that starts with a continuing story, whose episodes end on a hook. Then read the Up next ideas before they are made and rewrite each so it ends on a turn: you are the writer of the cliffhanger.
Viewers follow people, so keep a recurring cast and a locked look. Draw each character once and name them in the ideas. It is an AI drawing, so small differences can still appear, and keeping the cast small helps. Use invented characters; real people and characters that belong to a film, game or brand are not allowed.
The genres that come up most are revenge, secret identity, family drama and romance, and in Mexico fruit telenovelas. Take a genre, then give it your own twist: YouTube's policy on repetitive, mass-produced content is aimed at channels that post near-identical templated videos, so make each episode a new turn, not the same one again.
Episodes of about 1 to 2 minutes are the common advice, and a series lets you choose 1 or 2 minutes for each episode (paid plans go up to 10). A scene is 8 seconds, so it works as a beat inside the story, not as an episode.
Questions about AI short dramas
What is an AI short drama maker?
A tool that turns a premise and a cast into the episodes of a short drama. Here that means a series: the AI Agent writes each episode, draws the pictures from your characters' portraits, narrates it and adds captions and music. For spoken lines you make short animated scenes.
Is it free?
Your first episode can be: the free plan makes narrated story videos of up to 1 minute with a small watermark. Series, characters and animated scenes are Pro features, and each episode and each scene uses one of your plan's AI videos.
Can the characters look the same in every episode?
Mostly. You draw each character once, and every picture that names them is made from that portrait, so face, hair and clothes carry across. It is an AI drawing, so small differences can still appear. A series can have up to 6 characters, and an episode follows up to 3.
Can the characters talk?
In a narrated episode a narrator tells the story and the characters in the pictures are not lip-synced. For spoken lines make a scene: an 8-second animated shot where characters say up to two short lines you write, word for word. Scenes are separate clips and are not joined into the episode.
How long is an episode?
In a series (a Pro feature), from 1 to 10 minutes (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 or 10). On the free plan, your first episode is a narrated story video of 1 minute. Many people aim for about 1 to 2 minutes, which is advice and not a rule. A scene is 8 seconds.
Can I post it on TikTok, YouTube or Reels?
Yes, and you do the posting: nothing is posted for you. Save the episode and post it when you want, with a title and description written for each platform. Each platform has its own rules, and YouTube's policy on repetitive, mass-produced content is a reason to give every episode a new turn.
Do I need to label it as AI?
Each platform sets its own rule, and it often depends on how realistic the video looks. Our guide on how to label AI videos covers YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat. When you are not sure, switch the label on.
Can I make money with it?
We can't promise views or income, and nobody can. A series gives you a steady way to make episodes. Whether they find an audience or qualify for a platform's programme depends on the platform and on your story, and each platform's rules apply. Clip-Short does not sell your episodes or pay you.
Can I make it in Arabic, Spanish or Portuguese?
Yes. Narration comes in 19 languages with 23 voices, and Arabic narration is in Egyptian colloquial. A line you write in a scene keeps its own language. A finished episode can also be made again in up to 2 more languages, and each one uses one more of your plan's AI videos.
