A character who looks
the same in every video
Describe someone once, or start from a drawing, a pet, a mascot or a photo of yourself. The AI draws their portrait, and from then on every picture that shows them keeps the same face, hair and clothes.
- Free to create
- Up to 3 in a video
- Works in series too

How a character is made
- 1
Describe them, or start from a picture
A name, how they look, and the style they are drawn in. Or upload a drawing, a pet, a mascot or a photo of yourself, and the description is written for you.
- 2
The AI draws their portrait
About 15 seconds. Don't like it? Draw it again, or draw it with changes.
- 3
Use them in your videos
Pick up to 3 characters when you make a video, and name them in your idea to give them a part. Every picture that shows them is drawn from their portrait.
Why it matters
The same face, scene after scene
Every picture that names a character is made with that character's portrait attached, so their face, hair and clothes carry across.
Across a whole series
Give a series a cast of up to 6 characters. Each episode follows some of them, so your channel has recurring characters people come back for.
Start from what you have
A drawing of your own, a pet, a toy, a mascot or a photo of yourself can become the character, drawn in the style you choose.
A cast you keep
Keep up to 12 characters in your account and use any of them in any video. Editing or deleting one never changes videos you already made.
Good to know
- Characters are free to make on every plan. A video that uses them uses one of your plan's AI videos, like any other.
- Consistency comes from the portrait, and it works best when you name the character in your idea.
- Characters appear in the pictures the AI draws. They are not used in stock footage clips or in scene clips.
- You can draw up to 30 portraits a day, and keep up to 12 characters in your account.
Photos, and what we do with them
You can start a character from a photo of yourself, and the character is then drawn in an illustrated style, never as a photograph. If a photo shows a real adult, you confirm that it is you or that you have their permission. A photo of someone who may be under 18 is not accepted.
The picture you upload is looked at once, to write the description, and is never stored. Only the portrait the AI draws from it is kept.
Questions about characters
How many characters can I have?
Up to 12 in your account, up to 3 in one video, and up to 6 in a series, where each episode follows some of them.
Can I make a character from a photo of myself?
Yes. Confirm that it is you or that you have the person's permission, and pick an illustrated style: the character is drawn as an illustration, never photographically. The photo itself is not stored.
Can I use a photo of a child?
No. A photo of someone who may be under 18 is not accepted.
Is it free?
Making characters is free on every plan. A video that uses them uses one of your plan's AI videos.
Will the face be exactly the same every time?
Every picture that names the character is made from the same portrait, so face, hair and clothes carry over well. It is an AI drawing, so small differences can still appear.
Do characters work in scene clips?
Not yet. Scene clips don't use your saved characters; they are for the narrated videos and series.
More you can make
Narrated videos from an idea
The AI writes the script, draws the pictures and narrates it.
