How TikTok pays creators besides Creator Rewards: LIVE Gifts and Diamonds, Super Fan, Subscription, Series and TikTok Shop

LIVE Gifts and Diamonds

This is the biggest way TikTok pays creators besides Creator Rewards. Viewers buy Coins and use them to send virtual Gifts during your LIVE. When a viewer sends a Gift, TikTok turns it into Diamonds in your account. TikTok says Diamonds measure how popular your content is, and that once you collect them you may be eligible for rewards. Coins cannot be exchanged for cash, and Gifts cannot be changed back into Coins or cash.

TikTok lists these conditions to turn LIVE Gifts on:

  • 18+minimum age to go LIVE and collect Diamonds
  • 19minimum age in South Korea
  • 4conditions to turn LIVE Gifts on
  • 2ways to collect Diamonds: Gifts, and missions and campaigns
  • You live in a location where LIVE Gifts is available. TikTok does not list the locations on these pages.
  • You are 18 or older (19 in South Korea).
  • You are eligible to go LIVE.
  • Your account is in good standing and follows the Community Guidelines and the Terms of Service.

Government, politician and political party accounts, and other public interest accounts, cannot collect Diamonds through LIVE Gifts. TikTok's pages name no follower count for LIVE Gifts or for Diamonds, so a site that gives one is not quoting them.

The second way to collect Diamonds is missions and campaigns. You see your balance in the app under Profile, Menu, Balance, then LIVE rewards. To go LIVE at all you must be 18 or older, and TikTok may ask you to confirm your age with ID and selfies, a credit card check or facial age estimation.

How Diamonds turn into money

TikTok does not publish how many Diamonds equal one dollar. Its Virtual Items Policy says Diamonds follow the Gifts you receive at a rate TikTok sets and can change, and that the rate for a withdrawal is shown when you withdraw. Treat any rate you see on another site as a guess.

TikTok's Rewards Policy (updated 22 January 2026) lists what it weighs for a payment from LIVE: Diamonds collected, LIVE time, new unique followers, viewer engagement, the days you went LIVE, your league or ranking, and the quality and safety of your LIVE. Payments are calculated in US dollars. Until the money reaches your account, TikTok says the amount shown belongs to TikTok.

Scaled LIVE rewards, explained on a Creator Academy page last updated on 18 August 2026, turns this into a formula:

  • 53%most that Scaled LIVE rewards can reach, of LIVE rewards
  • 40%up to, from Per-LIVE Missions
  • 13%up to, from Weekly Missions
  • 25 minof LIVE time makes a valid go LIVE day
  • Your total reward is your popularity, measured in Diamonds, times your rewards percentage.
  • Per-LIVE Missions can add up to 40%. They look at LIVE time, new unique followers and whether you follow the Community Guidelines and the LIVE Monetization Guidelines. They update after each LIVE.
  • Weekly Missions can add up to 13%. They look at how often you went LIVE, engagement and your place in the Creator League. They update every Monday.
  • Together that is up to 53% of LIVE rewards, with a cap of 1,000 US dollars a week on the Creator League mission. A go LIVE day counts only after 25 minutes of LIVE.

The 53% is a share of the LIVE rewards TikTok calculates. It is not a share of what viewers pay for Gifts. TikTok started Scaled LIVE rewards worldwide on 4 August 2025, and a small number of creators in some regions get it later.

TikTok adds that being eligible for a reward is not a right: it has full discretion over whether it pays and how much. Breaking the guidelines can cut your rewards, and you can appeal a cut for any LIVE you hosted in the last 180 days. TikTok says people, not automation, decide these cuts.

To be paid you give TikTok details to check your identity, age and location, and a payment account in your legal name, such as a bank account or a PayPal account. TikTok says limits and fees may apply and that it cannot promise a payment date. For the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it publishes minimums and fees, but its two pages on this disagree, so we quote neither. In other regions the app shows the fees before you withdraw.

Super Fan, which upgraded LIVE Subscription

TikTok announced LIVE Subscription on 23 May 2022, first for invited creators, with age 18 and 1,000 followers as the entry rule. Today the LIVE version is called Super Fan. TikTok says Super Fan upgrades the earlier LIVE Subscription, and that the new Subscription is for creators who do not mainly go LIVE. Its Creator Academy page names 15 September as the date to set up the other program and gives no year.

What TikTok publishes about Super Fan:

  • Price for the fan: $9.99 a month, or the local equivalent. A Super Fan joins your Fan Club at once, and new fans start at level 10.
  • Your share: TikTok says it shares 50% of its net revenue with you, after the 15–30% fee of the iOS or Google store. It adds that the exact amount depends on several factors.
  • Benefits: exclusive LIVEs and comment sections, upgraded badges, exclusive Gifts and a Super Fan space. A Super Fan's Go Popular counts double, which helps your Popular LIVE ranking and your LIVE rewards.
  • First you set up a Fan Club. The pages we read name no follower count for Super Fan.

You can offer both Super Fan and Subscription to your community.

Subscription for videos

Subscription lets fans pay a monthly fee for subscriber-only videos, notes, badges, stickers and perks you design. TikTok says it is for creators who mainly post recorded videos. You set it up in TikTok Studio, in the Monetization tab, and fans can cancel at any time. TikTok's Creator Academy page, last updated on 18 August 2026, gives these terms:

  • Price: you choose from $2.99 to $99.99 a month, and the default is $5.99. Fans pay in their local currency, and TikTok has the final say on prices.
  • Your share: 70% of revenue after app store fees. A bonus of 20% more can raise it to 90%.
  • Bonus conditions: over 10,000 followers, over 100,000 video views in the last calendar month, and the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines followed. You must also post sub-only videos: your first one this month, or at least 3 if you posted some before. TikTok checks this every month.
  • Content rules: unoriginal, low quality or advertising content is not eligible. Sub-only content cannot use Duets, Stitches or sticker creations, and sub-only posts can use only copyright-free sounds.

To join, TikTok's announcement of 23 September 2024 says you must be 18 or older and have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the past calendar month, or meet specific LIVE requirements. It says Subscription opened in select regions and does not list them.

Series: paid collections of videos

Series lets you put a collection of premium videos behind a paywall. A Series can hold up to 80 videos, each from 30 seconds to 20 minutes long. Viewers buy access once, from a link in a video or from your profile.

TikTok lists these requirements on its Series page:

Could you apply for Series? Answer eight questions

  1. Are you 18 or older (19 in South Korea)?
  2. Is your account at least 30 days old?
  3. Is it a public Personal or Business account, not private or political?
  4. Did you post 3 or more public posts in the last 30 days?
  5. Do you have 10,000 or more followers?
  6. Did you reach 1,000 or more views in the last 30 days?
  7. Is your content original?
  8. Is your account in good standing, with no repeated Community Guidelines violations?

Followers10,000 or more.

You choose the price from a list that runs from $0.99 to $189.99, and you cannot change it after you post the Series. TikTok pays on the number of Series bought. Its Series pages do not say what share TikTok keeps.

You get a notice on the first day of each month with last month's total. If your Series total reaches $50 or the local equivalent, TikTok sends it on the 15th of the month. Before that you link PayPal, fill in a tax form and verify your identity, or you risk withholding and losing the right to take part.

With fewer than 10,000 followers you can apply in TikTok Studio by linking premium content you sold on another platform. Not every application is approved. The Series pages list no countries.

Tips

Tips let a viewer send a creator money directly. TikTok still publishes the Tips Terms, and they list these conditions for a creator:

  • A personal account in good standing, 18 or older.
  • At least 100,000 followers.
  • Membership in Creator Next.
  • A Stripe account.

TikTok does not process Tips: Stripe does, and Stripe charges its processing fees separately. TikTok says it charges no fee and receives no part of a tip. Tips is available only in selected countries, and the terms name none.

The Tips Terms page shows no date, and TikTok's Creator Academy list of ways to earn does not mention Tips. We cannot tell you whether new creators can still join, so check in your app before you plan on it.

TikTok Shop affiliate commissions

With TikTok Shop affiliate you promote other sellers' products in videos, in LIVEs or on your profile, and you earn a commission on each sale. The money comes from sales, not from Gifts. TikTok writes Shop rules country by country. The pages we read are the US pages, and they say:

  • An affiliate applies on their own, is 18 or older, is based in the United States, passes identity verification and has at least 1,000 followers.
  • The seller sets your commission, from 1% to 80% of a sale, and a creator is paid only one rate per product.
  • A new affiliate with fewer than 5,000 followers joins a pilot for at least 30 days: up to 3 shoppable videos a day and 3 shoppable LIVEs a week, only products from sellers with a Shop Performance Score of 95% or more, and no campaigns.
  • From 11 May 2026 every US creator and seller can post up to 30 shoppable short videos and 60 shoppable photo posts a day.
  • You complete identity verification before you can withdraw commissions.

Outside the US, TikTok said on 28 May 2026 that Shop would open on 15 June in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland. It joins France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the UK, which makes 10 markets in Europe. TikTok adds that approved creators across the EU can promote products and earn commissions.

TikTok publishes no average commission and no payout per sale. The pages we read name no Arab country for Shop.

Follower counts side by side

TikTok names a follower number for some of these programs and not for others. The chart shows the numbers its own pages give.

Followers TikTok lists
  • Shop affiliate (US page)1,000
  • Shop affiliate, no pilot limits5,000
  • Series10,000
  • Subscription bonus10,000
  • Tips100,000

No follower count is named for LIVE Gifts, Diamonds or Super Fan on the pages we read. Series also takes applications below 10,000.

Followers are only part of it. Series also asks for 1,000 views in 30 days, and the Subscription bonus asks for 100,000 views in the last calendar month.

LIVE rules: originality, AI and gift baiting

TikTok's LIVE Monetization Guidelines say what cannot earn from LIVE. They cover Gifts, LIVE Match and the ranking features. TikTok says a LIVE that cannot be recommended on the For You feed also cannot be monetized, and that government, politician and political party accounts cannot earn on LIVE. These rules matter most if you want to use AI or recorded video:

  • Reproduced content: imported or uploaded content with no meaningful or creative edits, or content that shows someone else's watermark or logo.
  • Recorded, spliced or looping videos that are presented to viewers as if they were a real LIVE.
  • Content run mainly by automated systems, such as AI or other tools, with no creator present to interact with viewers or run the LIVE.
  • Low-quality LIVE: passive or unattended content, such as sleeping on camera, or a blurred or static screen for a long time.
  • Gift baiting: tricking or repeatedly pushing viewers to send Gifts, trading follows or Gifts for engagement, or using sympathy or personal money needs to ask for Gifts.
  • Content where people under 18 are the main focus or the main participants.

TikTok enforces this with technology and moderators. The steps run from an in-app warning to a temporary or permanent block on LIVE Gifts, LIVE Match and the ranking features. You get a notice and a way to appeal.

Subscription and Series follow different rules, and both ask for original content.

What TikTok says about Egypt and other Arab countries

None of the TikTok pages we read names Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates or any other Arab country for LIVE Gifts, Diamonds, Super Fan, Subscription, Series or Tips. They say only that a feature is available in some locations, select regions or selected countries, and they give no list.

  • LIVE Gifts and Diamonds: you must live where the feature is available. No list is published.
  • Subscription: opened in select regions in 2024. No list is published.
  • Series and Tips: the pages list no countries.
  • TikTok Shop: the pages we read name the US and 10 European markets, and no Arab country.

The Rewards Policy has a line for everyone outside the US, Canada, Latin America, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: TikTok Pte. Ltd. in Singapore offers rewards to them. It does not name Egypt either. The surest test is your own app: open TikTok Studio, look at the Monetization tab and see which programs it offers you.

These are the dated changes on TikTok's own pages. Many pages show only a last-updated date, or none, so other things may have changed without a date.

Before you plan on TikTok income beyond Creator Rewards

  • You are 18 or older, and you know which of these programs your own app offers you where you live.
  • You know TikTok publishes no rate for Diamonds, so you plan without a number.
  • You have checked the follower numbers: 1,000 for Shop affiliate, 10,000 for Series, 100,000 for Tips.
  • Your LIVE is really live, with you present, and your videos are your own.

Where Clip-Short fits

No tool makes TikTok pay you, and no tool can make a LIVE: a LIVE is live. These help you make the ordinary videos that bring viewers to your account.

  1. 1

Vertical clips of your own videos

AI Clipping cuts your own long videos into vertical 9:16 clips, each kept on the person speaking.

  2. 2

    Captions on your own videos

Auto Caption transcribes a video you filmed and burns in captions you can correct word by word.

  3. 3

    Videos from your idea

The AI Agent makes a vertical 9:16 video from your idea, narrated in 19 languages, with captions. Subscription and Series ask for original content, so use it with your own ideas and edits.

Questions about TikTok money besides Creator Rewards

How does TikTok pay creators besides Creator Rewards?

Through LIVE Gifts (viewers send Gifts and you collect Diamonds), Super Fan and Subscription (fans pay each month), Series (viewers buy a paid collection of videos) and TikTok Shop affiliate commissions (a share of a sale). A Tips Terms page also still exists. Each has its own rules, and TikTok publishes no country list for most of them.

How much is a Diamond worth in money?

TikTok does not publish a rate. Its policy says Diamonds follow Gifts at a rate TikTok sets and can change, and the rate for a withdrawal is shown when you withdraw. For LIVE, TikTok says payment also depends on LIVE time, new followers, engagement and quality. Scaled LIVE rewards can reach up to 53% of LIVE rewards.

How many followers do you need for LIVE Gifts?

TikTok's LIVE Gifts and Diamonds pages name no follower count. They ask you to be 18 or older (19 in South Korea), to be eligible to go LIVE, to live where LIVE Gifts is available and to keep your account in good standing.

What is the difference between Subscription and Super Fan?

Subscription is for creators who mainly post recorded videos: fans get subscriber-only videos and perks. Super Fan is only for TikTok LIVE and upgrades the earlier LIVE Subscription. You can offer both.

How much of the money do I keep from Super Fan and Subscription?

For Super Fan, TikTok says it shares 50% of its net revenue with you, after the 15–30% fee of the iOS or Google store. For Subscription you get 70% after app store fees, and a bonus of 20% more can raise that to 90%.

How does Series pay?

Viewers buy a Series once. You choose a price from $0.99 to $189.99. TikTok sends your total on the 15th of the month if it reaches $50 or the local equivalent. You need 10,000 followers, or a link to premium content you sold on another platform.

Does TikTok Tips still exist?

TikTok still publishes the Tips Terms, which ask for 100,000 followers, a personal account and a Stripe account. The page shows no date, and TikTok's Creator Academy list of ways to earn does not mention Tips. Check your app.

Can creators in Egypt earn from these programs?

TikTok's pages name no Arab country. They say only that a feature is available in some locations or select regions. Check your own app, in TikTok Studio, to see what it offers you.

Can I use AI or recorded video in a LIVE?

Not as a pretend LIVE. TikTok's LIVE Monetization Guidelines say recorded, spliced or looping videos presented as a real LIVE, and LIVEs run mainly by AI or other tools with no creator present, may be demonetized.

Is the Creator Rewards Program different?

Yes. It is a separate program with its own rules, so this guide does not repeat it. Read our Creator Rewards Program guide.
