How it works

  1. 1

    Say what you need

A free plan to try, captions you can fix, another language, or a way to turn a clip into your own video. Each tool covers different ones.

  2. 2

    Compare the free plans

Opus Clip showed a free plan with a 3-day export limit and a watermark on animated caption templates. Clip-Short gives 60 minutes of processing a month with a small watermark.

  3. 3

    Compare price and units

Opus Clip showed Starter at US$15 and Pro at US$29 a month. Clip-Short's Pro starts at US$15 a month for 5 hours of processing. Units differ, so compare what each includes.

  4. 4

    Try one video

Paste a link in both and compare the clips yourself. That tells you more than any table.

Questions about Opus Clip and Clip-Short

Is Clip-Short an alternative to Opus Clip?

It does the same core job: it cuts a long video into short captioned clips. The tools differ in free plan, how usage is counted, languages and extras, which this page lists with the date each was read.

What does the Clip-Short free plan give?

60 minutes of video processing a month, with a small watermark on exports. Paid plans remove the watermark and give more minutes.

How is usage counted?

Opus Clip's pricing page names plans by price and export limits and did not show minutes or credits on 17 October 2026. Clip-Short counts minutes of video processed: 60 free a month.

What does Clip-Short add?

Remix turns a clip into a new video with a title card, a narrated hook and commentary at pauses. Dub says a clip again in English, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic, a stock voice for each speaker. Transcript fixes, cuts and speaker colours are in the clip editor.

What does Clip-Short not do?

It does not post for you, it needs spoken words in the video, it takes a YouTube link or a file, and it does not check the rights to a video or its music.

Where can I check these facts?

On each tool's own pricing page. We read them on 17 October 2026 and plans change, so check before you decide. We make Clip-Short, so read this page knowing that.

Is it free?

Yes, to try. The free plan includes 60 minutes of video processing a month and adds a small watermark. A paid plan removes the watermark and gives more minutes.

Can I fix the captions?

Yes. Tap a word in the transcript to fix it before you export. You can also download the captions as an SRT, VTT or text file.

What formats can I export?

Vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. You can also choose 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9.

How long can the video be?

A long video is read in parts, so the clips come from the whole video and not only the start. The longer the video, the longer the analysis takes.

Can I put a clip in another language?

Yes. Dub says the clip again in English, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic, with a different voice for each speaker, and puts the captions in the new language.

Does it post the clips for me?

No. You post the clips yourself. On a phone the share sheet sends the file to the app, and you can set a reminder email for the time you want to post.
