How it works
- 1
Clip a long video
Paste a video link or upload a file in AI Clipping. It finds the best moments, each one a clip you can edit.
- 2
Open a clip, turn on cleanup
In the clip's Edit tab, under "Clean up", switch on "Cut pauses and filler sounds". It listens to the clip and marks what it will cut.
- 3
Check, then export
Cut words show struck through in the transcript and cut pauses are marked. Press one to put it back, then export the clip.
What gets cleaned up
Long pauses
Any quiet stretch longer than about half a second is shortened to a quick breath, and dead air at the start and the end is trimmed. Pauses are found from the sound itself, not from the words.
Filler sounds
The ums, uhs, ers and hmms, in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Egyptian Arabic. Words that mean something, like "so" or "like", are never cut.
Picture, sound and captions together
Each cut is taken out of the picture, the sound and the captions at once, so nothing falls out of sync.
Studio sound
An option on export that reduces background noise and evens out the volume to the loudness social platforms expect.
Good to know
- It works on clips from AI Clipping, in the clip editor. It is not a separate upload tool.
- Filler sounds are found from the words the AI heard, so a very quiet or unclear "um" may not be marked. You can cut any word yourself by clearing it in the transcript.
- Studio sound is applied when you export. The preview plays the original sound.
- It is free to use. Exporting a clip uses processing minutes from your plan, and the free plan includes 60 a month and adds a small watermark.
Questions about cleanup
Does it remove silence from the whole video?
It works on each clip, and AI Clipping makes clips out of your long video. The pauses in a clip are shortened, and the long silences at its start and end are trimmed.
Which filler words does it cut?
Hesitation sounds like um, uh, er and hmm in English, and their equivalents in Spanish, Portuguese and Egyptian Arabic. It does not cut words that carry meaning, like "like", "so" or "you know".
Can I undo a cut?
Yes. Cuts show in the transcript, and pressing one puts it back. Turning the switch off removes all of them.
Does it make the audio sound better?
Cutting pauses and fillers tightens the speech. For the sound itself, switch on Studio sound when you export: it reduces background noise and evens out the volume.
Can I do this in the full editor?
Yes. In the editor's transcript panel there are buttons to remove filler words and to remove pauses, for a video that has its words.
Is it free?
Yes, to use. Exporting uses processing minutes from your plan, and the free plan includes 60 a month with a small watermark on the video.
