How to Edit an AI Video by Chatting With It
Change a finished AI video by writing what you want: captions, music, graphics, a line of narration. See what the agent asks first and how to undo.
An AI video is rarely right on the first try. The captions sit too high, the music is too loud, one line sounds flat, scene 3 needs a chart. Until now that meant opening an editor and working through a timeline. In Clip-Short you can now write the change instead, in the chat on the video's page.
In short: open a finished AI Agent video, write what you want in your own words, and the video agent makes the change, checks that it shows on screen and keeps it as a version you can undo. Changes that cost something, such as a new picture or a new voice, ask you first.
How it works
- Make a video from an idea with the AI Agent. The page opens on the finished video with the chat beside it.
- Write the change. "Move the captions lower." "Make the music quieter." "Add a graph of the numbers in scene 3." "Say the last line more slowly." You can write in your own language.
- Point if you need to. Pause the video on a moment, or click a spot on the picture, and the agent knows where you mean.
- Play the result. The agent has already looked at the screen after its change. If something it added is not drawn at that moment, it tells you why instead of saying it is done.
- Keep it or undo it. Each request is one version. One Undo takes it back, and History lists every version and can restore any of them, including the video as it was first made.
What you can ask for
- Captions: size, colour, height, animation, a box behind the lines, or fixing one word.
- Music and sounds: another track or mood, quieter or off, a sound effect on a word, an ambience under a scene.
- Texts, stickers and graphics: a line of text, an emoji sticker, a number that pops in, a chart. A chart uses figures that the narration says, that you gave, or that the agent found on the web in the chat, and it names the source.
- Order and title card: move a picture or a scene, change the title card, take a scene out.
- Narration and pictures: say a line again, livelier or shorter; edit or redraw a picture; add a stock clip; change the narrator.
- Translate or export: make the video again in another language, or make the file to download.
What costs something, and what does not
Free changes happen at once: captions, music, sounds, texts, stickers, graphics and order do not use one of your videos. Changes that make something new, such as a new voice for every scene, a line voiced again or a new picture, are shown on a card first. The card says what it will do, a new voice plays a sample, and nothing is spent until you accept. Some steps need a paid plan, and the agent says so.
When to use the chat and when to use the editor
The chat is fastest for clear requests: "lower", "quieter", "add a number here". The video editor is better when you want to drag, trim and compare by eye. Both work on the same video, so you can start in one and finish in the other.
What it will not do
- It will not invent a figure. If you ask for real numbers it looks them up and cites where they came from, or says it could not find them.
- It can still be wrong. It checks the screen, but you should play the video before you post it.
- It does not post for you. You export the video and upload it yourself.
A short example
Say you make a one-minute video about how coffee reached Europe. The captions cover the speaker's chair in scene 2, the music drowns the last sentence, and the ending needs a map. You write three requests, and The first two are free and are done at once. For the third, the agent asks which places to mark, shows you a card with the options, and draws the map from the places the narration names. If you do not like the map, Undo returns the video to how it was before.
Questions
Does every change use one of my videos? No. Only changes that create something new count against your plan, and only after you accept.
Can I undo something from earlier? Yes. History lists the versions, and you can restore any of them.
Is it the same as the editor? No. The chat makes a change from a sentence; the editor is a timeline you work by hand.
