The best AI clip makers in 2026
and what their free plans really give
Six tools that cut a long video into short clips. For each: what it says it does, what its own pricing page showed for the free plan on 10 October 2026, and the languages it names. No prices: they change by month and country. Clip-Short is one of the six, and its limits are listed too.

How it works
- 1
Decide what you clip
A podcast or an interview needs speaker following and clean captions. A stream needs dead air cut. A lesson needs captions you can fix. Pick the tool by the job.
- 2
Read the free plan, not the headline
Free plans here are measured in credits or minutes, and some free clips expire. Check how many minutes you get, whether exports carry a watermark, and how long files are kept.
- 3
Check your language
Caption and dubbing languages differ a lot between tools. If you clip in Spanish or Portuguese, look for your language by name on the tool's page.

Good to know
- We read each tool's homepage and pricing page on 10 October 2026. We did not sign up to each tool and we do not rate how good their clips are.
- We print no prices. They change by month and by country, and a stale price would mislead you. Open the tool's pricing page before you decide.
- We make Clip-Short, so read its row knowing that. It sits in the list because it does this job, not because it is the best at every part of it.
- Free to try. The free plan includes 60 minutes of video processing a month and puts a small watermark on exports. Paid plans have more minutes and no watermark.
Questions about AI clip makers
Which AI tool is best for turning a long video into clips?
It depends on the job and the language. Opus Clip, Vizard, Klap, Submagic, Kapwing and Clip-Short all cut long videos into clips; the table of cards above shows what each page says about its free plan and its languages.
Is there a free AI clip maker?
Opus Clip, Vizard, Kapwing and Clip-Short showed a free plan on 10 October 2026, each with limits such as credits, expiry or a watermark. Klap showed a trial of 1 video. Read the limits before you start.
Which tools name Spanish and Portuguese?
On 10 October 2026 Klap and Submagic named Spanish and Portuguese on their pages. Clip-Short makes captions in the language spoken and dubs into English, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic. Opus Clip listed 25 caption languages; check the list for yours.
Why are there no prices on this page?
Prices change by month and by country. A price copied from a page last week can be wrong today, so each card tells you what the free plan showed and leaves the price to the tool's own page.
You make Clip-Short. Why should I trust this list?
You should not take our word for it. Every line is what the tool's own page said on 10 October 2026, we list Clip-Short's limits too, and each tool's page is one click away to check.
What can Clip-Short not do?
It does not post for you, it needs spoken words in the video, it takes a YouTube link or a file, and the free plan puts a small watermark on exports. Dub covers English, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic.
Is it free?
Yes, to try. The free plan includes 60 minutes of video processing a month and adds a small watermark. A paid plan removes the watermark and gives more minutes.
Can I fix the captions?
Yes. Tap a word in the transcript to fix it before you export. You can also download the captions as an SRT, VTT or text file.
What formats can I export?
Vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. You can also choose 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9.
How long can the video be?
A long video is read in parts, so the clips come from the whole video and not only the start. The longer the video, the longer the analysis takes.
Can I put a clip in another language?
Yes. Dub says the clip again in English, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic, with a different voice for each speaker, and puts the captions in the new language.
Does it post the clips for me?
No. You post the clips yourself. On a phone the share sheet sends the file to the app, and you can set a reminder email for the time you want to post.
