Facebook content monetization
Facebook's invitation-only programme that pays creators for how their public reels, photos, stories and text posts perform. It replaced in-stream ads.
Meta ended in-stream ads, Ads on Reels and the Performance bonus on 31 August 2025 and put creator earnings into this one programme. It pays for performance, based on factors such as qualified views and watch time, rather than a share of the ads placed in a video.
It is invitation-only, runs in about 70 countries (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Brazil and the United States among them) and in languages that include Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese and English. Reels must be at least 10 seconds long, and Meta demonetizes accounts that post mostly unoriginal content.
