What Is a Snap Star on Snapchat?

A Snap Star is a Snapchat creator whose public profile Snap has verified by hand. It is one of the conditions of Snap’s Monetization Program.

Snapchat has public profiles for creators and businesses. Snap’s developer documentation (read 29 October 2026) says verified, official public profiles are “manually verified and referred to as Snap Stars or Official Businesses”, and that the Snap Star tier is for creators identified by Snap’s Talent Team. Other public profiles are unverified.

Snap’s Monetization Program page lists being a Snap Star among the conditions to be invited, beside 50,000 followers, 15,000 hours of view time in 28 days (3,000 from Spotlight), an age of 18 and an eligible country. Snap verifies Snap Stars through its own process; there is no follower count on Snap’s pages that makes an account one by itself.

For a creator, Snap Star is a status Snap grants, not a number you reach. Sites that list exact thresholds for the star are not quoting Snap. The star badge of a Snapchat+ subscription is a different thing.
