What Is Spotlight on Snapchat?
Spotlight is Snapchat’s feed of public short videos, recommended to people who do not follow you. Ads within Spotlight can share revenue with invited creators.
Spotlight is where Snapchat shows public short videos to people beyond your friends, much like TikTok’s For You feed or YouTube’s Shorts feed. Snap’s Monetization Program, by invitation only, shares the revenue from ads within Spotlight videos and between Snaps in Public Stories with the creators it invites.
Snap’s program page (read 29 October 2026) lists 50,000 followers and 15,000 hours of view time in the last 28 days, 3,000 of them from Spotlight; an age of 18 or the age of majority; residence in an eligible country; Snap Star status; and original, advertiser-friendly content. A Spotlight video must be at least 30 seconds long to earn.
From 7 May 2026, Snap says you must keep at least 100 hours of Total Spotlight View Time on your posts over the last 28 days to qualify for maximum Creator Rewards. Snap states no amount per view. For a creator, Spotlight is a way to be seen by strangers; earning from it is by Snap’s invitation and Snap’s rules.
