What Are Diamonds on TikTok LIVE?
Diamonds are what a TikTok creator gets when viewers send Gifts, mostly during a LIVE. TikTok uses them to measure popularity and states no rate per Diamond.
Viewers buy Coins and use them to send virtual Gifts. When a Gift is sent, TikTok turns it into Diamonds in the creator’s account; Diamonds can also come from missions and campaigns. Coins cannot be exchanged for cash, and Gifts cannot be changed back into Coins or cash. To collect Diamonds through LIVE Gifts, TikTok asks for a location where LIVE Gifts is available, an age of 18 or older (19 in South Korea), an account that can go LIVE and is in good standing.
TikTok’s Rewards Policy (last updated 22 January 2026, read 29 October 2026) says popularity is measured through Diamonds, and that a payment from LIVE may weigh Diamonds, how long the LIVE runs, new followers, engagement, the days gone LIVE, league or ranking, and the quality and safety of the LIVE. Payments are calculated in US dollars.
It gives no rate of Diamonds to dollars, so a figure that says what 1,000 Diamonds are worth is not TikTok’s. Government, politician and political party accounts cannot collect Diamonds. For a creator, Diamonds are one input into what TikTok decides to pay, not a balance with a fixed value.
