YouTube Partner Program (YPP)
The program that lets a channel earn from YouTube: ads, memberships and more, once it meets the thresholds and is accepted.
To earn a share of ad revenue, a channel needs 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days, and it has to pass a review against YouTube’s policies.
A lower tier, for fan funding such as memberships and Super Thanks, opens at 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in the last 90 days, and either 3,000 watch hours in 12 months or 3 million Shorts views in 90 days.
Meeting the numbers is not the end: reviewers look at the channel’s content, and inauthentic or reused content is a common reason AI and faceless channels are turned down.
