Inauthentic content

YouTube’s name for mass-produced or repetitive videos: content that looks made from a template, with little difference from one video to the next.

Inauthentic content is one of the reasons YouTube gives for keeping a channel out of the Partner Program. It covers videos that are mass-produced or repetitive, where each upload is the same template with a few words swapped. Until July 2025 YouTube called it "repetitious content".

It is judged on the channel as a whole, not on whether a video uses AI. A faceless channel can be monetized; one where every video opens the same way, follows the same structure and says little of its own is what this policy describes.

What helps: a different angle and opening for each video, your own commentary or research, and variety in how stories are told.
