Shorts Creator Pool

The part of Shorts feed ad revenue YouTube sets aside for creators each month, split among channels by their engaged views. Each keeps 45% of its share.

Ads in the Shorts feed play between videos, not inside one, so YouTube adds the revenue together. Part of it covers music licensing for Shorts that use songs; the rest is the Creator Pool, divided among monetizing channels by their share of engaged views. Each channel keeps 45% of the revenue allocated to it.

From February 1, 2027, a channel earns from the pool in a given month only if it has 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days.
