Content repurposing

Turning one piece of content into others: a long video cut into short clips, a podcast into Shorts, a video into another shape.

Repurposing gets more out of work already done. For video, the most common form is cutting a long video, a podcast or a stream into vertical clips of its strongest moments, each able to stand on its own.

Repurposing your own material is the usual case. When the material is someone else’s, YouTube’s reused content policy asks for something of your own on top: commentary, editing or explanation.

Inauthentic content

YouTube’s name for mass-produced or repetitive videos: content that looks made from a template, with little difference from one video to the next.
