What Is Reframe on Clip-Short?

Reframe is Clip-Short’s tool that changes a video’s shape, such as wide 16:9 to vertical 9:16, with the crop following the subject in each shot.

You upload a video or paste a YouTube link and pick 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9. The AI looks at each shot, finds the faces and what matters, and moves the crop with them, so a speaker who walks across the frame stays in it. You see the result beside the original before any file is made.

Each shot can be pinned or split by hand when the AI picks the wrong person. Reframe takes up to 30 minutes of video at a time and uses as many of your plan’s minutes as the video is long.

The free plan includes 60 minutes of video a month for Reframe, AI Clipping and Auto Caption, with a small watermark on the file and no card. Pro, at US$19 a month per bundle, has 5 hours of video a month and no watermark.

Reframe is the tool for a video you want in another shape as a whole, such as a talk, a lesson or an interview made for wide screens. To get several short clips out of one long video, AI Clipping picks the moments and crops each one in the same way, so the two tools share the same following crop.

Questions

Is Reframe free?

Yes, to start: it uses the free plan’s 60 minutes a month, with a small watermark on the file.

Which shapes can Reframe make?

9:16, 1:1, 4:5 and 16:9.

How long can the video be?

Up to 30 minutes. It uses as many of your plan’s minutes as it is long.

What if the crop follows the wrong person?

Pin the shot to the person you want, or split it, and the crop follows your choice.

Does Reframe add captions?

Reframe changes the shape of the video. For captions, use Auto Caption on the reframed video, or AI Clipping, which adds them to each clip.

Can I see the result before exporting?

Yes. The result plays beside the original before any file is made, so you can pin or split a shot first.
