Make every clip
more than someone else’s moment
A clip posted as it is belongs to the person in it. Remix builds your part around it: the backstory, who is speaking, facts with their sources, quote cards and a narrator, so each clip becomes a video with a story of its own.
- A storyline in every clip
- Facts with sources
- You post it yourself

Why plain clips get turned down
YouTube calls it reused content: repurposing content that is already on YouTube or another online source "without adding significant original commentary, substantive modifications, or educational or entertainment value". Two of its examples of what cannot earn are clips of moments edited together with little or no narrative, and short videos compiled from other social media sites.
Its examples of what can earn have one thing in common: the uploader adds a part of their own. A critical review, a reaction with comments, or "edited footage from other creators where you add a storyline and commentary". The rule applies even when the original creator gave you permission.
From a clip to a video of your own
- 1
Find the moment
Paste a YouTube link or upload a video in AI Clipping. It picks the moments that stand on their own, each with a score and the reason.
- 2
Remix it
Press Remix on the clip. The AI reads it and offers angles, each with a headline and a hook. Pick one or write your own, and pick the narrator.
- 3
Make it yours
Change the headline, the end question, a quote or a shot, or ask the video's agent in your own words. Then export it and post it yourself.
What your part adds
A storyline, not a cut
A cold open on the strongest line, the backstory, the clip in parts with pauses, and a question at the end.
Context the viewer does not have
Who is speaking, when and where, and what led up to it, looked up on the web, with a source for each fact.
Your angle
Pick one of the angles the AI writes for the clip, or write your own. The video follows it from the first line.
Every detail editable
Name tags, graphics, quote cards, shots and the narration can be changed or removed before you export.
Good to know
- Ask the creator before you clip their video. Permission lets you post a clip; YouTube applies the reused content rule even with permission.
- No tool can make a channel monetized. YouTube's automated systems and people review each channel as a whole and decide.
- A remix uses one AI video: from Pro, from a pack of 3 Pro videos, or from the Clip pack, which includes 3 remixes. It has no watermark.
- Clip-Short never posts for you. You review each video and post it yourself.

Questions about original clips
Are captions and a vertical crop enough to make a clip original?
YouTube does not say they are. Its examples of reused content that can earn all add the uploader's own part: a review, a reaction with comments, or a storyline and commentary.
Does the creator's permission make my clips original?
No. Permission lets you post them. YouTube applies the reused content rule even when the original creator agrees.
What does a remix add to a clip?
A cold open, a headline, the backstory with a source for each fact, name tags, graphics, quote cards at pauses, a narrator and an end question. The clip keeps its own sound.
Will this get my channel monetized?
No one can promise that. YouTube reviews each channel as a whole. Adding a storyline and commentary is on YouTube's list of what can earn; it is not a guarantee.
What does it cost?
A remix uses one AI video: from Pro, from a pack of 3 Pro videos paid once, or from the Clip pack, which includes 3 remixes. The free plan does not make remixes.
Do I need permission to clip someone's video?
Yes, or another right to use it, such as your own videos or public-domain footage. Clip-Short does not check who owns a video.
Is adding my own voice-over enough?
YouTube names no fixed amount. Its examples of reused content that can earn add a review, a reaction with comments, or a storyline and commentary. Remix adds a narrated storyline with context; how much of each video is your own work is up to you.
Can I check my channel against YouTube's rules?
Yes. The free monetization checker reads a channel's last 10 videos against YouTube's published policies, with no sign-in. It is an estimate, not YouTube's decision.
How long does a remix take?
A few minutes after you pick the angle and the narrator. You review it before you export anything.
Which clips work best for a remix?
Clips with one clear moment: a strong line, a reveal, a disagreement or a famous speech. The AI reads what is said, so the clip needs spoken words.
Can I write my own angle?
Yes. Pick one of the angles the AI writes for the clip, let it choose, or write your own, and the video follows it from the first line.
Is there a watermark?
Not on a remix. Plain clips exported on the free plan carry a small watermark.
